Undefeated Gateshead duo, Rob Ismay and Craig Dixon, will both get an outing close to home, when they appear on promoter Steve Wraith’s ‘Black and White Fight Night’ at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on May 18.
‘Birtley Bullet’ Dixon, 7-0 (0), has been a pro since July 2011 and has impressed with his solid boxing to date. In just his third bout, Craig beat highly-rated prospect Liam Vaughan to get boxing insiders sitting up and taking notice.
Last time out, in February 2013, Dixon racked up a points win over decent Polish fighter, Marek Laskowski, and is looking for his first inside-the-distance victory on the 18th.
Big-punching Ismay (pictured – Amanda Hannen Photography), who will also be having his eighth fight, is looking to impact on the domestic super-middleweight division this year and will be champing at the bit to make his first appearance of 2013.
Out injured since September last year, when he beat awkward journeyman Jody Meikle for the second time, Rob is progressing well in the pro ranks and is slated to get back into the groove in a four-rounder at the O2 Academy.

Also appearing on the bill will be Newcastle’s Dougie Curran, Andrew Buchanan returning to the ring in his first fight since 2005, Gateshead’s Paul O’Hagan, and North Shields’ Davey Ferguson Jnr.
