Tommy Frank gets a dream shot at a version of the world flyweight title on March 27, when he faces International Boxing Organisation (IBO) champion, Maximino Flores, in his home city at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge Arena, live on Eurosport (SKY 410).

Unbeaten at 13-0 (3), ‘Super’ Tommy – the IBO Inter-Continental belt holder – will undoubtedly face the toughest challenge of his career to date.  Mexico’s Flores has experience of fighting ‘on the road’ and won’t be intimidated having to face the local favourite in his lion’s den.  The South American won his world title by upsetting home fighter Carlo Caesar Penalosa in Thailand last year and, with just four defeats from 33 bouts will enter the ring as the vastly more experienced fighter.

Chief support to the main event is a genuine 50-50 encounter that will see a title and local bragging rights at stake, as Sheffield fighters Kane Salvin and Sufyaan Ahmed – both 5-0 – contest the vacant Central Area Super Featherweight Title over 10 rounds.

Tommy recently chatted to ShefNews Radio about his upcoming world title shot – check out the full interview below:
