After a whirlwind introduction to the boxing game, Steve Crump says he couldn’t have found a better man to be riding shotgun with than Dennis Hobson.

The businessman, who runs a successful insulation and heating company, has been a boxing fan all his life, but got the chance to get some hands-on experience a couple of years ago after teaming up with Hosbon.

Dennis has worked with some of the biggest names in boxing, including Ricky Hatton and David Haye, and has guided numerous fighters to world title success. Now a team, Steve and Dennis are hoping to have plenty more nights of glory, and are looking forward to making history together.

On November 20, at Sheffield Arena, the duo will host the UK’s first ever drive-in boxing show, live on Eurosport, topped by the all-Sheffield British Flyweight Title fight clash between Hobson Promotions’ Tommy Frank, and local rival Kyle Yousaf.

Ahead of the night, Crump says he is proud to be putting on a groundbreaking event, and is predicitng success for the fighter in his camp, ‘Super’ Tommy Frank.

“It’s a great experience to be working with Dennis, you learn new things every day,” said Steve.

“It’s been really enjoyable. Obviously the last nine months have been frustrating because we’ve got big plans for Tommy and some of our other fighters, which we’ve had to put on the back burner. But, we’ve put our heads together and obviously come up with the drive-in show on November 20, which is ground breaking and sets the bar for other promoters to look at. It’s great for the sport, and for our fighters who are getting a chance to work.

“We’re making history and I’m buzzing over it. To be a part of something that is unique, and to be setting records in the UK, I can’t tell you how excited I am about it. And we’re doing everything we can to make it a success.

“I’m confident that Tommy can win the British Title. He’s an ultimate professional, as I’m sure Kyle is, and it’s such a close fight. They’re both unbeaten, both from Sheffield, neither will take a backwards step, and it’s for the Lonsdale Belt – what a great fight to be topping the bill with. Obviously I believe Tommy wins, but if he doesn’t he can come again becasue he’s young enough.

“I wish both guys well on the night, and what I do know is that this fight will live up to the hype, and it will be a splendid evening and a great show of boxing.”
