Despite suffering his first defeat last Friday (December 11), Tommy Frank remains upbeat and is looking forward to getting back into action next year.
On the UK’s first ever drive-in boxing show, the 27-year-old took on Mexico’s Rosendo Hugo Guarneros for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental Flyweight Title at Sheffield Arena, live on Eurosport.
With the fight warming up into a lively encounter, disaster struck as the ‘Steel City’ fighter suffered an injury which saw his left arm rendered redundant. Despite bravely fighting on and trying to win the rounds with just his right hand, Frank was eventually pulled out of the contest by cornerman Glyn Rhodes who sensibly decided to save his fighter for another day.
Now 13-1 (3), ‘Super’ Tommy will take a little time out to heal, before getting back into the gym early next year. Watch below as well-supported Tommy gives an update on his injury, talks about plans for 2021, and gives a message to his fans – and any critics!
