Fight Academy have signed another exciting Scottish fighter, with the acquisition of the super talented, Callen McCaulay.

Already 7-0 as a pro, with two KOs, the 23-year-old has a big future ahead and fans will now be able to watch his journey on ground-breaking new boxing broadcaster, Fightzone.

Callen first laced up the gloves aged seven, went on to become a Scottish and British amateur champion, and has boxed all over the world representing his country.

Since turning over at 18, the Glaswegian hasn’t put a foot wrong and the future looks bright with Fight Academy’s Dennis Hobson looking to inject some new momentum into the Scottish boxing scene.

“I have a great relationship with Iain Wilson [and Sam Kynoch], who is a great promoter from North of the Border and I’m looking forward to doing some co-promotions with him. Iain has a really talented kid in Callen who knows how to conduct himself but – the main thing is – also knows how to fight!”

“This is a massive opportunity for me,” said university graduate Callen, who also works as an electrical engineer. “The Fightzone production and the shows have been absolutely brilliant, and to be helping to bring that up to Scotland is great exposure.

“Over the next year with Dennis, I’d like to get four fights in. I haven’t boxed for two years, I broke my hand in my last fight and have had two operations on it. So I want to get back, get a Scottish Title, and I’m only 23 so maybe also go for a Youth Title like some of the other boys have done, and get my ranking up in the world bodies.

“Talent-wise, with my work ethic, if I’m matched well and built up the right way, then I really think I can go all the way. I can get to British level and with the right team around me, go further.

“I work hard enough, have the talent and style, and don’t take much punishment. I’ve got all the gears to go far.”
